Food

At Karmøy Folk High School you will be served varied, good and homemade food — a combination of traditional dishes and international flavours. The kitchen is led by head chef and two chefs which emphasizes quality and well-being. The bread comes from local bakery, and the meals consist of breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper. On Fridays we gather in common hot lunch, and dinner is served as supper. The Baker & Confectionist course also often makes something to the delight of everyone.

Meals

Breakfast & Supper

Served with fresh bread from bakery, crispbread, cereals and oatmeal. The selection consists of spreads, yoghurts, fruits and vegetables — as well as coffee, tea, milk and juices.

Lunch

The students pack their lunch during breakfast, and at lunch, leftovers from dinner are occasionally served to reduce food waste.

Every Friday, the whole school gathers for hot communal lunch A wonderful tradition that marks the end of the week.

Dinner

The dinners offer one varied combination of the Norwegian and international dishes.

The menu is planned so that you get a healthy, filling and exciting diet throughout the year.

Weekend meals

On weekends, the day starts a little later, so you have time to sleep and relax.

Saturdays are served breakfast, hot lunch and festive dinner in the evening, while Sundays offer homemade rolls for lunch, Sunday dinner and supper.

Chicken with creamy potatoes, vegetables, and pepper sauce.

Dietary types and allergies

The kitchen has extensive experience with allergy adaptations. We offer good vegetarian options, and we take allergies and special diets for the individual student into account. We adapt the menu in dialogue with you and can accommodate, for example, gluten and lactose intolerance, nut allergies or other medical/ethical needs. The dishes are clearly labeled, and the kitchen follows safe routines for raw materials and preparation.

Please let us know your needs when school starts - and we will ensure that the meals are both safe and tasty for everyone.

For some dietary and allergy needs, there is a small charge per month.
