Grants and loans (2025/26)

Support from Lånekassen
For the 2025/2026 school year you can get up to NOK 151 690, - in loans and grants from Lånekassen. Of this, 40% can be converted to grants if you complete the school year. This applies to all folk high school in Norway, and you can easily apply via lanekassen.no.
In addition, some municipalities and counties may offer their own grants for students at folk high schools — feel free to check local opportunities where you live.

At Karmøy Folk High School you can choose from most double rooms with private bathroom. We also have some single rooms, these are given priority to those who for various reasons have to live alone. Single rooms are without private bathroom (deduction NOK 2000, - for rooms without private bathroom). The price of the stay includes all meals that are served at the school.
Teaching materials
Teaching materials include various materials, concerts, theatre, minor field trips, activities, semester fees, school photos, student cards, etc.

Vaksiner
Vaksiner for enkelte reiser, kostnad avhenger av hvilke vaksiner man har fra før av.
Spesialkost
Tillegg for spesialkost (allergier/dietter) etter nærmere avtale og omfang.
Eneromstillegg
Kr. 600-1 200,- per måned, avhengig av romtype.
Valgfag
Noen få valgfag har en liten tilleggskostnad, info om dette blir gitt før man velger valgfag.
