The study tour is mandatory, lasts 18 days and is included in the price, giving you a complete and clear framework around the experience. In Australia we visit Sydney, Great Ocean Road, national parks with kangaroos and koalas, Mornington Peninsula and Phillip Island with penguin parade — all in true backpacker style.

Before Australia, we will tour the Norwegian west with activities such as Amazing Race, autumn trip to Hardanger, glacier tour at Folgefonna and accommodation in hut, tent, lavvo or hammock. This experience gives you closeness to nature, independence and cohesion without the requirement of prior knowledge.

On this course, you do not need to have experience with hiking, skiing or backpack on your back — we will help you at any level.. The goal is for you to experience mastery, fellowship and learning for yourself throughout the year.

You learn to plan your trip and travel with budget, route planning and transport, and you practice packing sack and using proper gear. This gives you expertise that applies both on the course and later in life.

During the trip you will experience real nature with kangaroos, koalas and exotic wildlife in Australian national parks, as well as clear beaches and wild nature on the Great Ocean Road. You combine metropolitan experience with natural experiences of a rare kind.

In Melbourne, you experience the city's role as Cultural Capital of Australia, with a heavy film, art and design environment providing you with cultural replenishment and inspiration. The metropolitan experience complements the nature experiences and adds variety to the journey.

You will be taught camera/mobile camera, image processing and film editing, so that you are not just a participant, but active creator of your own memories. Photo knowledge and creative visual expression make your trip even more valuable.

Topics like Australia — history, food, nature and indigenous people is part of the course, giving you depth and reflection about your journey. You get to feel the backpacker vibe with tour, community and real experiences in both the big city and nature.

You get to experience farm life and apple harvesting up close — real, educational and social. Here you will get an insight into local culture, sustainability and food production, and a respite from big-city life on the journey.

At Phillip Island, you will experience surf beaches Cape Woolamai, The Nobbies and Seal Rocks, and get to meet Australia's distinctive nature up close. This is a perfect end to your journey of waves, views and wildlife.
