Are you ready for a year where golf, travel and development goes hand in hand? On the course Golf - Australia you get to play on golf courses close to school, practice in a simulator and experience an adventurous study trip to Australia which is included in the price.
You get the opportunity to spend a whole year playing a lot of golf, developing your skills and at the same time experiencing something completely new — both at home and out in the world.
The course is suitable for everyone no matter what level you're at.

What do you get?
Collaboration, support and community
We make it possible for you and your fellow students to collaborate, support each other and provide constructive feedback, so that the learning environment is both evolving and safe.
Golf courses and simulator use
The school has a membership of three golf courses in the surrounding area, and offers training both outdoors and in simulator. You get access to a brand new simulator at the school and two modern simulators at Nordvegen Golf Club — perfect for development whatever the weather.
Joint trip and course learning in Norway
Before your trip abroad, you can participate in joint trips in Norway, such as a trip to Preikestolen, and you follow the course week focusing on exercise and communion. This gives you a good start and community before the trip.
Long season at the coast
At Karmøy we have mild climate and little snow, meaning you can play golf outside for much of the year — ideal for training and development. This gives you more hours on the track and more benefit from the training year.
Nature and wild land along the Great Ocean Road
We drive the iconic Great Ocean Road, where small towns, hidden beaches, waves and wild nature meet the golfing experience. Here you get a real backpacker vibe and nature close up.

In Australia, we play on spectacular courses in an environment of sea, mountains and exotic scenery. Study tour combines golf, big city, waves and nature experiences that creates memories for life.
Sydney experiences on the trip
In Sydney you can feel the pulse of the big city with Opera House, Bondi Beach and surf culture, all added in as part of the golf trip. This gives you both sports experience and culturally rich setting.

Technique, stroke and skill
The focus in teaching is how to beat longer, strikes more precisely, understands technique and knows the rules, so you raise your game significantly. This gives you tools for real mastery.
The year you can spend on golf
You will have the opportunity to dedicate an entire school year to play golf and develop your skills, and go home with a lower handicap and a strengthened game. The line fits at any level — with instructors for everyone and a handicap system that makes the competition fair.

Wildlife and nature experiences in Australia
The study tour includes visits to national parks where you experience kangaroos, koalas and exotic wildlife — a nature experience that gives way from the fairway to true Australian wildness.

When choosing the line , you also get the option to combine it with one of the lines below.
At Karmøy Folkehøgskule you get a very special school year where you choose two of our 20 lines — and follows both throughout the year. This gives you over 190 possible line combinations, so you can create a year that suits exactly your interests.
You have approximately 40 line days on every line. The rest of the time is filled with common subjects, electives and theme days that provide variety and community in everyday life.
